Agia Dynami is a gentle, sheltered beach on the east coast of Chios, a short drive south of Karfas. It is one of the few beaches on the island with a truly shallow sandy entry — making it the go-to choice for families with young children who find Mavra Volia (dark pebbles, drops away sharply) or Karfas (busier and more built-up) less suitable. The water here is exceptionally clear and protected from wind, staying calm and warm throughout the summer season. The beach is a mix of fine sand and small smooth pebbles, and the bottom shelves very gradually — children can wade far from shore in waist-deep water. Agia Dynami is named after the small whitewashed chapel of the same name that sits at the edge of the beach, as so many Greek beaches are. The chapel lends the bay a peaceful, unhurried atmosphere quite different from the more commercial beaches nearby. Facilities are modest: a small snack bar with cold drinks and basic food, and a limited number of sun loungers and umbrellas for hire in season. Because it is slightly harder to find than Karfas, it rarely gets truly crowded, even at the height of summer.
Ideal for families with toddlers — the shallow, sandy entry is rare on Chios. The small chapel is always open and worth a look. If Karfas feels too busy, Agia Dynami is only 3 km further south with a fraction of the crowds.
Perfect for families with small children. The water is shallow for a long way out and very calm. Our 4-year-old could splash around safely for hours. Less dramatic than Mavra Volia but much more child-friendly. The cantina has good cold drinks.
Çocuklarla gezmek için mükemmel. Su sığ ve sakin, küçük çocuklar için ideal. Karfas'tan daha az kalabalık. Güzel bir aile plajı.
